Key bullet points from her presentation:

• Summary and examples of direct and indirect exposure to crypto: traditional FIs are exposed to crypto in different ways, even if they don’t offer crypto-related services and don’t engage in direct business relationship with CASPs; implementing a tailored risk-based approach.

• Adapting internal organisation to manage crypto risks (at the level of LOD2 & LOD1); defining crypto-assets strategy and risk appetite; dedicated training & awareness; updating policies, procedures, questionnaires incl. on client onboarding and KYC review.

• Detection and monitoring of crypto exposure, incl. AML monitoring of crypto-related transactions in fiat currency.

• Use of Blockchain analytics tools in the financial crime risk analysis.

• Practical case studies (KYC/AML analysis of CASP & other Web3 companies, non-CASP client using bank account for crypto off-ramp or on-ramp, bank client HNWI with origin of wealth from crypto).
